Patient Code of Conduct
To ensure that Harbor Interventional Pain Center, LLC is able to provide a safe and healthy environment for staff, providers, patients and visitors we expect all to refrain from behaviors we deem unacceptable and can be disruptive or pose a threat to the rights and safety of other staff, providers, patients and visitors.
The following behaviors and actions are prohibited:
- Damaging equipment or property.
- Physically assaulting or threatening to inflict harm to staff, patients or visitors.
- Intimidation or harassment of staff, patients or visitors.
- Making threats of violence through written or verbal correspondence.
- Offensive comments about race, religion, sexual orientation or personal traits.
- Lude or menacing gestures or actions.
- Making racial or cultural slurs or other derogatory remarks.
- Disrupting another patient’s care or experience.
- Possessing firearms or any other type of weapon.
If you witness or are subjected to any of the above or any other inappropriate behaviors, please do not hesitate to immediately report it to any staff member.
Expectation of our patients is to adhere to the following:
- Treatment plans made by your provider are expected to be adhered to. Your provider will discuss options and treatment plans. Refusal to adhere to or being argumentative with the provider over your care plan will not be tolerated. Including, but not limited to ancillary testing, urine drug screening, DME (durable medical equipment).
- Children and minors are to be supervised at all times.
- Courtesy with cell phones and other electronic devices including but not limited to putting devices away when interacting with staff, set ringers to vibrate, keep volume off or to a low setting.
- Staff are to be treated respectfully. There is zero-tolerance for aggressive or offensive behaviors, engaging in such behaviors will result in dismissal from the practice.
If there are any questions or concerns about care and service received in our office, please contact a member of our management team so that these matters can be addressed in a timely manner.
Violators of the code of conduct will be subject to removal from the facility and/or discharge from the practice.
